Another week already past. Time flys.
This week was another good week. It was the week that now I am officially trained and can do all of the things that the other missionaries can, like going on a double exchange. That is where my companion and I are separate with another priesthood holder. We still haven't gotten one of those lined up, but we have been double tracting. When we double tract we each knock one side of the street, and if anyone ever invites us in we just wait for our companion to get done across the street then call him over. At first tracting was pretty uncomfortable, but now I'm used to it. Most people are pretty friendly and I haven't heard a question that I don't have the answer to.
We had our first companion exchange with our district leader. It was pretty cool. I spent the time in my area with Elder Groth. He is from the Idaho Falls area, and is a really cool guy. It was cool seeing a different style of teaching. That day we went and visted one of our investigators named Jimmi. Jimmi is a Texas man through and through. He used to drive truck, and now is looking for a job. He looks really rough, but he is a very good man with a strong belief in our Savior. He is reading the Book of Mormon and praying to know if it is true. Once he finds out that it is, it may take him a while before he can be baptized. He is into everything in the Word of Wisdom except for drugs. We'll help get him through though.
Yesterday I had one of the coolest experiences of my life. We have been praying that we would find those that have been prepared for our message. We were split tracting and I knocked on a door where I was sure that no one was home, but it opened. A man invited me inside, so I called my companion over and we sat down and started chatting. His name is William, but everyone calls him Junior. He is an older man and he was telling us about what he does for work, and what he had done for work. He works for a man on his rental homes, and had worked on ranches all throughout the United States. We then talked about what we did as missionaries. He said that he had been praying for guidence and direction. I know that we were an answer to his prayers and he was an answer to ours. We then taught him about the restoration and gave him a copy of the Book of Mormon, he said that he would read it a pray about it. We then asked him if he would be willing to be baptized if he found out it is true and he said he would. The spirit was so strong.
I know without a doubt that God answers prays. He is our Heavenly Father and he loves us. He wants to bless us and is just waiting for us to ask.
Untill another Thursday,
-Elder Rindlisbacher
